Easter-themed pudding dirt cups are a fun, festive dessert take on the classic kid approved dirt cup, crushed chocolate cookies (like Oreos), and Easter candies in small cups. They’re often topped with items like:
Peeps marshmallow bunnies or chicks
Candy eggs (e.g., mini Cadbury or jelly beans)
Green-tinted shredded coconut to look like grass (optional)
These no-bake treats are super easy to make, kid-friendly, and perfect for Easter parties or springtime gatherings!
You can get creative with how you decorate them, making each cup a little Easter scene. Some people add small chocolate carrots, bunny-shaped cookies, or edible flowers to make them extra festive. Using clear plastic cups or jars lets you see the pretty layers inside, adding to the visual appeal.
To make them, simply:
- Prepare chocolate pudding (instant or homemade).
- Crush chocolate cookies to resemble “dirt.”
- Layer pudding and cookie crumbs in cups—usually starting and ending with the crumbs.
- Top with your choice of Easter decorations like Peeps, candy eggs, and coconut “grass.”
They can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge, making them a convenient make-ahead treat. These Easter dirt cups are fun to assemble with kids and make a cute, delicious centerpiece for any spring celebration.

- Crushed Oreo’s
- Embellish the top of the ‘dirt’ with Easter Bunny Peeps, edible grass, and Easter egg candy.
Recipe Notes
- Make Ahead – These hold up nicely if you make them one day ahead, but I don’t recommend making them any farther ahead than that. The cookie crumbs will start to soften.
- Pudding – Any brand of chocolate pudding will work, but it must be instant. Use the 3.9 oz size box.
Variations:
- Graveyard – Use tombstone shaped cookies and write R.I.P. on them. Stick into the top of each cup and garnish with pumpkins.
- Sandy Beach – Use golden Oreo’s and decorate with little umbrellas.
- Construction – Use a small shovel and/or toy tractor to garnish with.
- Dinosaur – Use small toy dinosaurs to decorate with.
- Worm – Use worms to embellish the dirt.
- Flower – Use little flowers to garnish with.
